DEWALT Warranty Overview
1-Year Standard Guarantee
All DEWALT power tools come with a 1-year European Guarantee. If your tool develops a fault due to defective materials or workmanship within the first 12 months, DEWALT will repair or replace the tool (or defective parts) free of charge, provided the claim complies with DEWALT’s official terms.

3-Year Extended Guarantee (Optional)
You can extend the standard warranty from 1 year to 3 years on qualifying DEWALT power tools.
How to Register
Registration must be completed by the original product user within 4 weeks of purchase:

You will need the following information:
- Your contact details
- Tool catalogue number
- Serial number
- Date code
Kits cannot be registered as a whole — each tool in a kit must be registered individually.
Extended Warranty Terms
- Only available to the original purchaser who bought the tool from an authorised DEWALT European reseller.
- Not transferable.
- Not available for products purchased for resale or hire.
- Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period.
- By registering, you accept DEWALT's warranty terms and that the product is excluded from the DEWALT 30-1-1 policy.
Products Not Covered by the 3-Year Extended Warranty
- Fastening tools (e.g., nailers, powder-actuated tools)
- Batteries and chargers (excluding Powerstack batteries)
- Rebuilt or reconditioned products marked “Factory Rework” or “Q”
- Products purchased used or second-hand
DEWALT may refuse claims that do not meet warranty conditions or where faults are not caused by manufacturing defects.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
- Contact your seller or find an authorised DEWALT repair agent at www.2helpU.com.
- Return the tool with all parts included.
- Provide the original proof of purchase.
- If applicable, provide a valid DEWALT European 3-year guarantee certificate.
DEWALT reserves the right to decline claims that do not meet warranty conditions.

Makita Warranty Overview
At Makita, we guarantee the quality and durability of our products. All Makita tools are thoroughly inspected before leaving the factory and are guaranteed to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for one year from the date of original purchase.
Standard Warranty
The standard warranty for all Makita products (excluding Li-ion batteries and chargers) is 1 year from the date of purchase.
The standard warranty for Makita Li-ion batteries and chargers is 2 years from the date of purchase (for products purchased after April 1st 2025).
How the Warranty Works
No-cost repair is provided if a manufacturing or workmanship defect is identified within:
- 12 months from the date of purchase (power tools)
- 2 years from the date of purchase (batteries and torches, excluding DML805 and handheld torches)
How to Make a Warranty Claim
Simply send the tool (complete and freight prepaid) to either an approved Makita Area Service Agent or to a Makita (UK) Ltd Factory Service Centre (FSC).
This warranty excludes the following items:
- Chucks
- Power leads
- Torque limiters
- Service items
- Filters
- Any cleaning of the product
If no manufacturing defect is found, or if Makita cannot validate the warranty, repair charges will apply.
Extended Warranty Offer
You can enjoy an additional 2 years of warranty on eligible Makita tools, subject to the conditions below.
Eligibility Requirements
- Your product must be registered within 30 days of purchase.
- Your Makita tool must be CE and UKCA marked, excluding: batteries and chargers, accessories, petrol tools, gas nailers, pneumatic tools, clothing, and worklight products without a serial number purchased after 1st April 2025.

Warranty Exclusions
Warranty services will not apply under the following conditions:
- Repairs have been made or attempted by non-authorised parties.
- Repairs are required due to normal wear and tear.
- The tool has been abused, misused, or improperly maintained.
- Alterations have been made to the tool.
These terms do not affect your statutory rights.
